The romantic story and award winning novel, Twilight has received much praise and a massive amount of acclaim since its author Stephenie Meyer created the book series. Ever since its first publication the novel Twilight has received many positive reviews from critics for its deeply romantic and thriller suspenseful tone and connotations. This book or movie can be considered to be your fantasy vampire romance story and it is primarily about the love between a young teenage girl named Isabella “Bella” Swan and her vampire lover Edward Cullen.
The story begins when Bella leaves her home town near sunny Phoenix, Arizona and moves to stay with her father Charlie Swan after her mother remarries a minor league baseball player and chooses to travel on the road with him. She moves to Forks, Washington and attends Forks High School where she befriends a group of students and surprisingly realizes that a few of the guys are interested in her.
But, what grabs Bella’s attention the most is the mysterious Cullen family that appears to be much different and detached from everyone else in the town. On the first day of class, Bella sits next to Edward Cullen, who appears to be ignoring her and completely disgusted by her, which in turns adds much to Bella’s own shyness and bewilderment. Edward Cullen eventually warms up to Bella and they’re friendship becomes even deeper when he saves her from being hit by a student’s van in the school parking lot. Edward uses his supernatural powers to stop the van and this causes Bella to engulf him with questions about how this was possible. After careful investigation, and consulting friends like Jacob Black, she comes to realize that Edward is a vampire who eats animal blood instead of human blood.
In both the book and movie, Twilight takes a whole life of its own when one the Cullen’s vampire relatives, named James, strolls into town and wants to hunt Bella for her human blood. He becomes intrigued about the relationship and love that Edward has for Bella and wants to come in between that.
